It’s somehow fall/screenshots/B.S ramble/chicken parm
Some home essentials, a discount code, unnecessary cute things, and a little skincare. Also my acupuncturists info.
Today I present quite the ramble. A little bit of this, a little bit of that.
Happy fall + hope you enjoy! :)
I’ve gotten into the habit of just putting random things into my notes app and somehow constructing one of these things out of it. I feel like that within itself might be more interesting/funny. Perhaps one day I’ll share the cryptic notes section.
Here’s the long version:
What I’m reading: Sofia Coppola’s Archive. (Obsessed) also reading Henry & June by Anaïs Nin on and off.
What I’m watching: Supermodels on Apple TV. Rewatching The Nanny from season 1 is my fall/winter go to.
Blush people keep asking about: Ysl Lip & Cheek Balmy Tint in nu-chills soft plum.
Brooklinen discount code: refresh23 or! The 15% off site with free hand towels sitch depending which one is more convenient for items in cart.
Food: Korean bowls from Sobak. Pasta & chicken parm. (deep down I’m just a jersey girl & tis the season) Right now the rotation are the classics. Emilio Ballato’s, Supper, Pepe Rosso & Bar Pitti (my bf’s current go to). Also bone broth at work. Easy to drink while in between clients and really good for you especially this time of year. If anyone has a plug at Springbone holla at your girl. P.S. a cute cafe to chill at & or have wine: Casetta.
Uggs are making a comeback and while I wanted to bring back my middle school and high school classics. (Tall chestnut sunbursts) I realized I no longer tuck my pants in so what’s the point. So! I did what all adults should. Got the mini version in grey :)
The ballet is back! Go support them. It’s their 75th year anniversary. You can obvi just get single performance tickets or! You can make an account and get a flex package for 3 performances and get a nice deal. (Also gives you something to look forward to this fall) You can support them by becoming a member for $100 or $8 a month with lots of perks. They also run a program called 30under30 (I think) and they email you with last minute tickets for $30 if you are under 30. So let’s have a cutie ballet moment, put on a nice outfit and have yourself a chic uptown night!
My bestie got a new job. S/O Satory. Send good vibes. Here are some of the totes I found. Also I never said all of these are practical or for everyday use:)))
classic, clean, leather, fendi
A little bit of drama and color
A little Carmela Soprano moment
Are we even talking totes if I don’t include a LV Neverfull?
A real classic tote WITH a strap
What I would be taking into the office right now (personal fave)
While I’m really over normal scrunchies (sorry not sorry) I love these fun ones and want them all. (Also better than a tight elastic)
Black silk with a little flare
Beautiful lace that looks like a white flower
A 2 in 1 scrunchie beaded necklace sitch!
A romantic scrunchie with some lace for an extra va va voom
Camille Beinhorn is releasing her fine jewelry collection. It’s 22k so let’s start saving but it looks like it’s going to be very very beautiful even if it’s just for a looksie. Online Oct. 1st.
Bags that I saved and want but will not buy so someone please do. Starting off with this heavy hitter featured above
Annoyingly cute baby pink mini Gucci bag with charms
Perhaps one of the smallest baguettes ever. That is absolutely unnecessary
A real class act at dinner vibe
A bag Meredith Blake would have that I realllllly *ahem santa* want
A baguette to satisfy your inner tween self
I got influenced by instagram and targeted ads to get the iconic Marc Jacobs kiki boots. (Heaven version) Underneath you will find some evidence.
No idea where I’ll wear them but at least I’ll have something to pass down to my future child.
The brooklinen discount code is up there because for the past two years I’ve felt a shift into some sort of *adulthood* and realized the importance of nice home essentials. Specifically bedding. My go to’s are brooklinen and parachute. I have a brooklinen duvet insert I swear by, sheets, pillows, towels, robe you name it. If you have questions hmu! Parachute is my go to for colder months as I really like their thicker stuff. Casper makes great mattress toppers if you want some extra softness. Also Muji has great bedding. Little by little because it does add up but! With a discount code or black Friday (like I did) worth the splurge.
Side note: if you still do not have one. Get a Dyson vacuum.
Also a water filter! The berkey system is supposed to be the best in town and lasts forever. While I love the OG metal look, I prefer the Walter system (I have a white one). It uses the same Berkey filter & looks a little nicer imo.
For my peeps that are moving or just like to look at furniture I usually check on homeunion, goodbehavior (v good prices), 1st dibs (for inspo mostly unless you wanna ball out), chairish (esp if you know what you’re looking 4) or good ole facebook marketplace.
Sorry not sorry I’m a Russian bathhouse gal. Straight to the point, not expensive & great food. Bathhouse is also good and much nicer. I hear World Spa is supposed to be great.
The wooden spoon herbs rose colored glasses tincture every day. I swear it makes me a happier person, the immunity tincture in my water every morning, the looni supplements that help with period cramps and mood. Magnesium powder before bed for sleep, energy levels and gut stuff. Also a good probiotic. Still on the search if you know of any lmk. Right now the refrigerated ones at organic stores are my go to.
I love acupuncture. I haven’t been that good about going recently. But! Helpful with any sort of health concern with consistency. I go to Dr. G on third ave.
From my personal experience the simple answer is getting back to an actual routine. During summer I get really lazy and don’t do all my layers. I think transitioning into the colder months you really wanna take care of your skin. So for me that means actually using a serum like the flora one. Or a hydrating one the drunk elephant one is great. I swear by oils. Currently using this Derma one I found at a health food store in Montreal and have repurchased twice. Cheaper than the symbiome one. (I will say it’s not as luxe but gets the job done) I alternate oils with the dieux moisturizer. Using the Caudalie eye gel at the moment that feels really nice. Doing face masks. My friend got me a ton of dr. Jarts (keep them in fridge) Basically actually do all the things! For me creams and oils work best during the winter months. Gentle cleansers! I love an oil cleanser my go to is the one love with enzymes bc im terrible at exfoliating. I’m no skincare expert but maybe we’ll do some fun research for the next newsletter so stay tunedddd :)
As always, thank you for reading!
