excuse my tardiness i have been trying to live a “slower life” highly recommend.
some thoughts:
trying out one coffee a day 2 MAX. if i really need a pick me up i’ll do a matcha or green tea in the afternoon. trying to ~regulate my nervous system~ but all jokes aside believe it or not 4 coffees a day isn’t good for u. womp wompppppppppp. *has helped with sleep and anxiety
also not pumping my veins with caffeine first thing in the morning has been nice. waiting an hour or so has helped with crashing later in the day. who knewwwwww
also back on super you by moon juice. every couple of years i get back into it. she works.
i fucking hate TRR $14.95 shipping and a $6.95 IN STORE processing return fee???
Can’t stop listening justin bieber right here ft drake & nina simone live version of stars. two very different vibes i know.
reading: i regret almost everything by Keith McNally.
j crew is lowkey hitting rn (never thought I’d be saying that) here are some things i recently purchased and am enjoying.
may favorites n yes i know it’s mid june
*some of these are things I’ve mentioned a million times before but have fallen back in love with recently.
make beauty lip treatment- glossy, tastes good, not sticky.
jumped on the soft services band wagon- love the hand cream (great gift) it’s on my nightstand now and the buffing bar for a real good shower scrub. (I like a physical exfoliating situation like that)
fara homidi lip pencil in Demi paired with summer fridays balm in brown sugar or make beauty balm.
dedcool detergent in 01 taunt. Used to the last drop and on its way out i did a combo of my usual tide and dedcool to stretch it lol. Refill is otw. Unfortunately I’m a SUCKER for anything that smells good and makes ordinary things like laundry nicer. Use code NATALIE15 for some coins off ;)
*gonna try xtra milk scent next i have the hand cream and it smells v good.
lemaire shoesies (i cannot stop wearing these) 10% off on ssense :))) make sure you’re shopping on the app for sale prices
the flat versions are almost half off n yes they run true to size might fuck around and get the butter onessss (lots of lemaire on sale rn)
Aritzia 100% cotton black pants- so comfortable and can be dressed up or down.
v into body oils. my most used recently are the caudalie fig the l’occitane almond one.
L’occitane foot cream bc i wear heels way too often for my feets liking so i need extra moisture and am scared of crusty feet.
santa maria novella potpurri candle. Someone gifted this to me and while its not a scent i would’ve picked for myself its very nice for the bathroom and different for me. feels #grown
*i did just buy the melograno scent for someone which is prettty nice and ofc got myself some incense papers.
tom ford body glitter. another scent that’s kinda random for me but i like it.
If you want some long hair inspo capelli is a fun page to scroll through.
some tips:
no heat styling!!!!!!!! is my biggest tip i can possibly give you (annoying but true). Hate to break it to you but coloring your hair a couple times of year (with someone who cares about the integrity of your hair) isn’t what’s frying your hair off. It’s the everyday or every other day heat styling (i pray to god you’re using a heat protectant)
* i like the color wow dream coat for a light spray (it also helps with frizz) or the r&co thermatech if you want something creamy. And! If you’re an air dry girly that just smooths or curls a couple pieces and want something for your hair when it’s dry or a couple days after washing the r&co trophy spray is a great dry spray that has heat protection.
Stop over washing your hair. In an ideal world I’d love ppl to wash twice a week. 3x if necessary.
* if you’re someone that goes once a week throw in a scalp detox product or clarifying shampoo to avoid build up. (Which can lead to an unhealthy scalp which then messes with hair growth :))
invest some time in figuring out the method to ur madness for ur air dry. everyone’s hair & technique is different. I’m not just talking products but actual techniques like twisting your hair in two pieces while it dries, parting it a certain way, adding no crease clips in the front so your part is where you want it. Putting it in a claw clip while it’s almost dry, braiding at night etc. this is kind of trial and error and obviously requires patience.
For example i only brush my hair in the shower with conditioner/mask in. Throw my crown affair towel on for 10ish minutes then finger comb, find my part and scrunch in air dry mousse, then rose spray and scrunch again, tuck my front pieces behind my ears (for that little wave in front of the face) and then do not touch until it is completely dry. When dry a shit ton of texture spray with head flipped upside down and voila. I know someone who swears by air drying with sunglasses pushing their hair back because it leaves a nice shape with hair out of their face. (Some boys like to wear beanies to keep their hair flat lol) to each their own!
If all of this sounds super annoying and you can’t be bothered or your hair just doesn’t do well with air drying bc of frizz. Get a keratin. There’s a million of them out there now. Some stronger than others. If you’re scared of flat hair get half of your head keratin(ed?). This is good for smoothing without getting rid of all volume.
If you’re really on a hair growing journey. Get TRIMS regularly. Not several inches off every haircut. Communicate your goals with your hair stylist. Also if your hair is healthy with no split ends, don’t get a haircut just because someone is bullying you into it. I AM NOT TELLING YOU TO BOYCOTT HAIRCUTS. Just as needed. If you don’t cut your split ends they will just break off. Therefore no length.
Take care of your scalp, stop fucking with your hair too much, eat a balanced diet, stop frying it off :) good shampoo, a mask and oil go a long way. 4 some extra hair tips:
As for hair supplements, nutrafol does work but can be spendy, some ppl complain about the amount of pills if that’s the case you can always do half in the morning half at night. if you’re looking something on the natural side i like super hair. I’ve personally took this in the past and saw results (not immediate) but also was happy with the ingredients.
also! always oil your ends in between washes, i rlly like 14th night oil, virtue healing oil, roz for something heavier, and ceremonia spray oil is great for refresher curls or waves.
if you’re looking for a pre shampoo oil (i love for anyone with thick hair, dry hair, overprocessed or just needing a little pick me up) the roz willow oil, ceremonia moska oil and fable and mane are a nice treatment. this is PRE SHAMPOO. you can put it on while working out, on wash day, running around etc. these oils are thick and not be confused with styling oil :)
